2009 Cool Truck Show was a huge success!
We raised $14,986 dollars!

Shriners Hospitals for Children is a one-of-a-kind international health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs.
Children up to age 18 are eligible for care at Shriners Hospitals for Children, if, in the opinion of our physicians, there is a reasonable possibility they can benefit from the specialized services available. Admission is based solely on a child's medical needs. A family's income or insurance status are not criteria for a child's acceptance as a patient. There is no charge for services provided within Shriners Hospitals for Children facilities.

Orthopedic Care

Shriners Hospitals for Children has been a leader in pediatric orthopedic care since 1922. The hospitals specializing in orthopedics are dedicated to providing medical and rehabilitative services to children with congenital deformities, problems resulting from orthopedic injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

Burn Care

The Shriners Hospitals specializing in burns have been leaders in burn care and research since opening in the mid-1960s. Treatment is provided for burn injuries and related scarring, along with physical and emotional rehabilitation.

Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation

In the early 1980s, Shriners Hospitals for Children opened the nation's first spinal cord injury rehabilitation centers specifically designed for kids. There, patients find a complete range of services needed in order to recover to the fullest extent possible.

Cleft Lip and Palate Care

Cleft lip and palate was added to the health care system's treatment disciplines in 2005. Services available at Shriners

Letters to Bob regarding Shriners and Truck Show

Bob,
I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate all you have done. When I talked with you yesterday you seemed down about how your event went and now you may not have anymore. Before you had your first event I didn't know anything about Shriners. You explained to me what they did for the children at no cost to the families. Shortly after that my daughter gave birth to twin girls. One of my granddaughters was born with only one foot. The other one had something wrapped around it while she was developing so it is 1/3 the size. My daughter was very sad and upset not knowing what to do. I told her I had heard from you about what Shriners does for children. She contacted them within a couple days and they were very helpful. My granddaughter is now 2 years old and Shriners has given her a prosthetic and see's her regularly. There's no way my daughter could have afforded all that Shriners has done for Sophia, my granddaughter. You are a very kind man and I will always be grateful for what you have done to help my family.

Bob,
Although we don't always achieve the results we would like I think you have achieved more than you know. The show was small this year but it really gave everyone there a chance to learn more about each other and spend more quality time together. For the most part I believe that the core group that was there will continue to be a group of people you can count on. I do believe you are right, you should focus on why you do the show. You are helping an amazing group of people that do something that is much bigger than any of us. Even when your donation is small it still makes a huge difference. For Brent and I we truly found this to be the great for our business. Consistently coming to your show has really helped to build our name in the trucking community. We look forward to spending time with our friends and customers that we would not normally have. I know our vote is to continue the show, we will be there each year to support you and bring as many trucks as possible.
Thank you,
Jackie McGrath

As I sit here about to write thank you 's to all who attended this year's show ,I can't help but think about all of the kids & families in Mexico who were affected by the fire over the weekend. What little part we as a trucking family have now played in their lives by giving our proceeds and hearts to the Shriners Children's Hospital Of Northern California. None of us ever want to be where these families are at this point in our lives, but the hospital will take care of these kids as if they lived next door to you or me .
People have always asked me why the Shriners, now you all know why. I'm not one of the guys in the funny hats ,just a person who likes to see kids happy & healthy . We all take for granted the health of our kids until something like this happens. That is why none of us need to ever walk with our heads hung low ,always walk with your head held high knowing that in some way we all as group may be helping these kids right now.
On behalf of myself ,my co-sponsors, A & L Truck Supply ,BrannonTire ,Yokohama Tire ,Cherokee Truck Parts ,Tony & Raymond at the gate to all of the volunteers who always are there to help make sure this show is CLASS ACT,the manufactures who always donate, the people who bid at the auction and the people who just plain like to see why so many trucks are in one place at one time ,thank you.AND DON'T FORGET
ABOUT THE FOOD!IT WAS AWESOME AGAIN! At a time like this nothing else need be said.
I think at this time you all should know that next year the show will be The Shriners Cool Truck Show. I know that a lot of you came to me during the show and said --Bob ,you put on a great show ! It wasn't me that did it,I'm just the guy that said let's have a party --you are the ones that made it fun! Thanks to the City of Galt ,California for all their help also.
THANK YOU AGAIN
